More Christmas in Cambodia
A quick tour of the blogosphere suggests many Bloggers are surprised MSM isn't picking up on Kerry's lie about his "secret mission" into Cambodia. I can't say I'm particularly surprised but think big-time journalists might be taking their cue from, of all people, Bill O'Reilly. Bill has been on a three day rant saying the Swifties allegations are 30 years old, cheap shots and who cares anyway. Given O'Reilly's conservative credentials, I think it's possible his vociferous denuciation of O'Neill & Co. has bolstered the liberal press' license of ommission--'well, if Fox's conservative pit-bull O'Reilly isn't even going to cover it why should we?'. Of course, for whatever reason, they are wrong not to hammer Kerry for some answers but I'm not sure it would make much difference now anyway--the word's out.
But here's the crux as I see it. It's reasonable to be suspiscious of Kerry's war record when you realize he somehow managed to get himself three Purple Hearts, a Silver and Bronze Star in a mere 90 days*--and then leveraged the "citations" to get himself out of combat. One Purple Heart per month? As O'Reilly might say; oh really?
*Kerry was in Vietnam for four months, twelve days but spent the first month training.
